Adventures with Friends: Waggy Tails, Funny Jumps & Puppy Love in Sheffield
Last weekend, Fluffy, Bean, and Autumn packed their best barks, snuggly blankets, and high energy into the car for a much-anticipated playdate with their doodledoo pals Harley and Jasper (@jasper_harley_doodledoo).
The meet-up was at a beautiful enclosed dog field in Sheffield — the kind where tails are free, zoomies are encouraged, and everyone leaves a little happier.
The weather? Just pawfect. Mainly sunny with a soft breeze, keeping everyone cool but golden-lit for the camera. It was the kind of day that makes tails wag harder.
We booked a 1-hour slot online and (without realising) selected Field 1 — the agility field. The kind lady running the space kindly offered to switch us to Field 2, the adventure field, but we figured… how hard could agility really be?
Well. Let us tell you.
💞 Puppy Love at First Zoom: Autumn & Harley
Autumn – our phantom princess with the cheeky spark – wasted no time. She and Harley instantly locked eyes, and the universe shifted. One zoomie lap later and they were in full-blown rom-com mode.
From the moment Autumn saw Harley, it was clear: she only had eyes for him. Forget the ball. Forget snacks. Forget gravity. He trotted in, fluff bouncing, and she looked at him like he was the last liver treat on Earth.
It was giving “I loved you in a past life” energy. She followed him with total devotion while Harley (our fluffy golden boy) graciously accepted the attention with the kind of swagger only a Cockapoo Casanova could pull off.
🧸 Sensible Sidekicks: Fluffy & Jasper
While the lovebirds ran wild, Fluffy and Jasper took a different approach — sticking close to the pawrents and enjoying a more laid-back stroll around the field.
Fluffy, our dignified senior lady with clouded eyes and a flawless sense of style, preferred to observe. She took everything in with a calm poise that screamed “Queen Energy.”
Jasper? Oh, he’s the definition of a proper Yorkshire gent. We swear if he were human, he’d have been wearing a flat cap and muttering, “Bit breezy, this.” Quiet, thoughtful, and oh-so-sweet — he kept a watchful eye on the group while radiating dependable big brother vibes.
🎾 Bean’s One True Love: The Ball
Bean. Our ginger rocket. She had one priority: the ball. If you threw it, she was gone. If you didn’t throw it? She stared into your soul until you did. The agility equipment, other dogs, gravity — none of it existed. Only ball.
Watching her tear through the grass with laser focus was both impressive and mildly intimidating. This girl could outrun her own thoughts.
🐾 Agility Time: Glorious Mayhem
With 20 minutes to go, we gave the agility course a try — and let’s just say, the results were… varied.
Bean? She ran under every single jump with the confidence of an Olympic athlete. Technically incorrect, but fully committed.
Fluffy? She took one look and said, “Not today, darlings.” Royal decree issued.
Harley, with some gentle support from his pawrent, conquered a few jumps like a fluffy action hero. His proud little face was everything.
Autumn approached the tunnel like it was a haunted cave. A bit of sniffing, a dramatic pause, and eventually she braved it — sliding slightly like a cautious penguin on a wet floor.
Then came the moment.
Fluffy entered the tunnel.
Not just entered. Glided. Floated. A white cloud of grace and dignity emerged from the other end while I clapped and watched with glee.
Star of the Show? Absolutely. 👑
📸 One Perfect Group Shot

Just before our hour was up, we managed the impossible: five dogs, one bench, no chaos (okay, minimal chaos). With the agility field in the background and tongues out in all directions, we snapped the group pic of dreams.
It wasn’t just a photo — it was a memory captured. Five pups, five personalities, one perfect afternoon.
🌿 Why These Moments Matter
These kinds of outings are about so much more than exercise. They give our dogs the chance to explore, socialise, and enjoy safe freedom — off-lead, off-worry, and fully in their element.
For our gang, it’s also a space to learn from one another, grow in confidence, and just have fun in a way only dogs truly can.
💛 A Special Thank You from Bean
We want to send a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful friends who were so kind and patient with Bean.
Since being attacked by an off-lead dog, she’s been understandably nervous around other pups. But thanks to the gentle encouragement, kindness, and calm energy from Harley, Jasper, and their pawrents, Bean was able to relax, play, and just be Bean again — chasing her ball without worry.
Watching her confidence come back, even in small steps, means the world. We’ll never forget it.
